Important

Anyone who ever wanted to go on a truly self-indulgent trip, intent upon languishing some place where every desire can be fulfilled should head to Las Vegas. It is among America's fastest developing urban centers and offers unmitigated options for the pursuit of entertainment.

For the stylishly inclined, showing up at a Vegas nightclub or club should be all about turning heads and making an unforgettable impression and renting a luxury car is the preferred way to do so. However, choosing a luxury car in Vegas is not always a pleasurable experience and could ruin your vacation. It makes sense to equip yourself with some basics before you set forth to hire the rental of your choice.

Questions to Ask

Ask these questions to decide upon the legitimacy of the rental firm and fairness of the offered deal.

How are the rates structured?

Most rentals operate on a 24-hour format. The vehicle is expected to be returned at the mentioned spot or else penalties may be charged. The rates are charged on a daily basis and then added up for the total duration. Some free miles might be added w.r.t specialty-vehicle (luxury) rentals. Miles are charged on a per/mile basis at a standard rate that should be clarified at the onset.

Is there a waiting period?

Some high-end luxury rentals may have a minimum waiting period, as their demand is limited. Most luxury vehicles are difficult to rent on weekends. This is applicable to most luxury sedans, sport utility vehicles and luxurious sporty coupes (e.g. the Mini Cooper).

What are the charges for rental coverage, insurance and special fees?

Most luxury rentals are a part of specialty vehicles for which a Comprehensive Collision Coverage becomes necessary. Verify this kind of coverage and if any upgrades are needed on the existing coverage.

Insurance — some people prefer to have insurance in the form of Renter's Collision Insurance. Liability Coverage may or may not be offered by luxury car rentals.

Common insurance terms:

- SLI - Supplemental Liability Insurance

- RLI - Rental Liability Insurance

Deposit — most rentals ask for a minimum security upon the credit card. The amount is decided depending on length/cost of rental. Debit cards are not preferred for accepting deposits.

Debit Card Payment — some car rentals may accept them but they tend to ask for documents like utility bills and payroll remnants.

How to cancel a rental reservation?

Most rentals in Vegas charge a fee for canceling a reservation within a period of 72 hours. A usual practice is to charge no cancellation fee for notice of more than 72 hours. Exotic and luxury car reservations usually include a non-refundable deposit.

Are there any rental pre-requisites?

The usual requirements include a valid driver's license and a credit card. At the time of deciding the coverage options, the proof of insurance can be asked for.

Age limit for renting in Vegas

Las Vegas drivers must be at least 21 years of age. Drivers aged between 21-to-24, tend to incur an added higher charge in the form of risk coverage. For foreign tourists, International Driving Permits are necessary.
